Custom Wedding Dress

I was commissioned by a bride (height at 6’2″) and her mother to make a custom wedding dress for the bride’s upcoming wedding, as she couldn’t find what she was looking for in stores. For this dress, the bride wanted a dress she could wear to more than just her wedding and to have something that fit her style. From the beginning, the bride knew she wanted a trending, colorful embroidered tulle fabric to be the main material for her dress and that she wanted “flowy” sleeves and a full skirt. Then, we worked together to design her dream dress.

The above flat illustration is the design we decided on based on the bride’s wishes and her mother’s budget. Her mother also wanted to include a surprise in the dress where we reused parts of her own wedding dress in the bride’s dress. This was accomplished through the embroidery details and reusing some of the lace and notions from her dress. The origins of these materials was revealed to the bride after the dress was made, making for a heart-warming surprise.

The final dress
